Joan Baron

Environmental Artist, urban garden activist, tile maker & desert explorer Joan Baron received her BFA from Washington University in St Louis and MFA from the Chicago Art Institute. Her multi-disciplinary studies continued with The Institute of Noetic Sciences. Her socially engaged art practice addresses sustainable living in the desert, growing ones own food, walking meditations, social justice, memory, & place-making with an emphasis on hands-on expression & collaboration in constructing art installations that bring attention to Nature & our role as a partner in her/​our survival. She is principal of Baron Studio in Scottsdale, Az.
