Artist's Statement
This series began with a flurry of emotion and energy resulting in the revelation that a reoccurring theme was emerging that resulted in this body of work titled ”Elements”. Elements is an illustrated commentary on fire, water, earth and air on how they affect us and are affected by mankind.
The non stop flow of creativity that I experienced painting Elements was truly a milestone of self discovery of how the elements are connected to my emotional and spiritual being.
An important narrative also emerged as reminder of the imperative message that we are to be better stewards of the earth, there is a price to pay in reckless drilling of oil, greenhouse gasses and pollution. If I was skeptic before, I am truly a believer of climate change now because these images did not just evolve out of my imagination. The paintings were inspired by something much larger than my ideas of creating artwork but from dreams and todays events happening around the world.
