Working alone in my studio, I make my own recycled paper pulp and cast that pulp into my handmade plaster master molds or found objects to create my base forms. Cast Paper images and patterns are applied to the surface of the forms. Each resulting Cast Paper creation is surface treated with a variety of paints, stains, dyes or other colorants. Multiple layers of acrylic varnish infused with gilt powders protect the surface and add subtle shimmer to each piece.
These Cast Paper pieces are executed entirely by myself in my studio located on the second floor of my home outside of Midland, Michigan.
Each finished Cast Paper piece is a truly singular work of art.
Owners of my Cast Paper pieces are a unique group, always ones to set the trends, trust their own sense of style, and comfortably express themselves with the art they select to inhabit their homes.
